on Saturdays 12:30-2:30 pm PST/PDT to listen to the India Show.
Hello Listeners,
I dedicated the classical music section of today's show to Raga Hamsadhwani. Hamsa, in Sanskrit, means swan and Dhwani means voice. This raga is dedicated to the slow moving swan whose voice is supposed to attract one and all on this earth. Hamsadhwani is an extremely popular Raga in both the forms of Indian classical music i.e Hindustani and Carnatic classical. In today's show, I played various Hindustani and Carnatic classical compositions based on Raga Hamsadhwani. I hope you enjoyed the the nuances of performing this Raga on different instruments. Here is the entire playlist.
